Inversion
| Inversion in Danish follows one simple rule: the finite verb must be the second element in a main clause (the V2 rule). If anything other than the subject stands first, the subject moves after the verb – that's inversion. It's automatic once you understand which words can go first and which can't. | |
| Normal order – subject first | |
| Jeg læser en bog | I am reading a book |
| De har allerede set filmen | They have already seen the film |
| Hun kommer i morgen | She is coming tomorrow |
