Long and short adverbs of place
Many Danish place adverbs come in two shapes. The short form marks movement to/from a place; the long form marks location at a place. Mastering the pair tells your listener whether there is motion or not. | |
Examples: ind/inde, ud/ude, op/oppe, ned/nede, hjem/hjemme, hen/henne - and with pointers: herhen/herhenne, derhen/derhenne, hvorhen/hvorhenne. |
