Relative pronouns

Relative pronouns link a noun to a clause that describes it. Danish mainly uses dersomhvis, and hvor.
der – subject only
Use der when the relative pronoun is the subject of the clause. It cannot be used after a preposition and cannot be an object.
Hun har en ring, der er smuk She has a ring that is beautiful
Det er en mand, der bor her That's a man who lives here
Jeg kender folk, der taler japansk I know people who speak Japanese
Vi så et husder lå ved søen We saw a house that lay by the lake
