Danish grammar
Phrasal verbs
In Danish, many common meanings are expressed with a verb + fixed preposition/particle. Learn the whole unit as one chunk.
Some are literal, others are idiomatic – like English "look up", "figure out". Don't translate word-by-word.
Word order: main clause is V2 (verb is in second place). Pronouns usually come after the particle: say finde ud af det, not ✘finde det ud af.
After modals, keep the chunk together: Jeg vil finde ud af det = I will find out. |
